LESS THAN 17 SPOTS LEFT! Life Planning for Your Transition: The Role of the Clinician (Chicago)

Friday, August 11, 2017 at 9:00am
This event lasts 0 days 3 hours and 0 minutes.

This event was organized by the NASW-Illinois Chapter Older Adults Shared Interest Group (SIG). End-of-life planning and discussions are critical for older adults and their families. How does the social worker begin the discussion when the family or older adult has not had this discussion? What are important points to explore regarding end-of-life decisions and planning? How might senior centers, adult education, and more traditional services (i.e., hospice and medical care settings) encourage this discussion? This is an area of practice that is challenging for clinicians at experience levels.
