Northeastern District CEU Event: Demystifying Borderline Personality Disorder (Evanston)

This Northeastern District CEU Event is being co-hosted with The Merion. While therapy is recommended for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD), many find this population challenging. Learn more about skills to effectively treat individuals living with BPD.

Speaker: Kate Mahoney is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 30 years of experience in behavioral health. Kate is the Executive Director of the Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is active in the community, a frequent presenter at conferences and community forums, and a strong advocate for reducing the stigma that for too long has prevented many individuals impacted by mental illness from accessing treatment and being fully integrated into their community. In addition to her clinical work, Kate has dedicated much of her career to impacting public policy in order to increase access to care. She currently serves on the Illinois Opioid Crisis Response Advisory Council. For eight years, Kate represented Illinois on the Board of Directors of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence. She is a past president of the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health and is also a past president of the Illinois Association for Medication Assisted Addiction Treatment.
