Our educational offerings (CEUs) include:
Live In-House Training
This is the traditional training format whereby attendees would arrive at the training center and would receive the materials from an interactive presentation with the presenter and other attendees. In-house trainings have the added advantage of allowing the attendees to network and have more of a connection with their instructor and other attendees.
Live Virtual Training
This is a live broadcast of the actual training center teaching. Those who cannot come to the training center can attend it from home or anywhere else in the world. Those who attend the class off-site will view the same Power Point presentation, listen to the same lecture, and will have the option to ask questions as if they were onsite.
Distance Learning (Web-Based Recorded)
Many of our continuing education classes are recorded and uploaded to the Internet. If you were unable to attend a workshop, you can still take the course online and receive CEUs. This is an actual video recording, so you see what other attendees see. There is not, however, an opportunity to ask questions as this will be a replayed recording.
This is a chance for social workers to come together and learn new skills and techniques, hear new and updated techniques to strengthen their practice, as well as to join together to promote our profession. The NASW Illinois Statewide Conference averages from 15 to 19 CEUs, includes numerous networking opportunities, and offers access to social work-related vendors. This onsite training opportunity is THE event for social workers.
Associated Group Events
There are numerous events being presented around the state by the chapter either through direct sponsorship or co-sponsorship with other social work agencies. These events often offer free or affordable CEUs.
