Deborah Perry (MSW, University of St. Thomas / St. Catherine University; LCSW) has had a solo practice in West Dundee, IL, since 2009. Deborah has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families faced with a variety of life stresses such as attention deficit disorder, phobias, anger issues, parenting, depression, anxiety, bereavement, marital problems, divorce, homelessness, incarcerated women, and financial strain. She also has received specialized training in sexual violence and crisis intervention, completed training in working with military families dealing with stress and the impacts of war-related trauma, is certified in reality therapy, and has training and experience in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), she specializes in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as other traumas, anxiety, depression, and a variety of other disorders. She is also a Counseling Services for Fire Fighters Certified Clinician. Deborah was a collaborating clinician investigator in the field trials for the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Before opening her own private practice, Deborah was on staff at a group practice, has worked in community health centers in Aurora and Carpentersville as a behavioral health therapist serving the under-resourced who were experiencing multiple difficult life issues, and managed group homes for adults with developmental disabilities.
