Grisel Rodriguez-Morales

Grisel Rodriguez-Morales (MSW, Loyola University Chicago; LCSW) works at Rush University Medical Center – Department of Social Work and Community Health as manager of health promotion programs, overseeing Rush Generations, a wellness membership program for adults and caregivers that provides access to a wealth of information and resources geared toward aging and improved health and function. With experience in aging and mental health, Grisel has worked in interprofessional health care teams and with individuals and families of diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, economic, and other diverse backgrounds. She has offered cultural competency training to health care and social services providers. As faculty of the NASW Supervisory Leaders in Aging (SLA) Program, Grisel engaged trainees in learning ways to promote culturally competent gerontological practice. Grisel also holds an academic appointment as instructor to the adjunct faculty in the Rush University (RU) College of Nursing – Department of Adult Health and Gerontological Nursing. As part of the faculty involved in Interprofessional Education (IPE) at Rush University, Grisel manages the Health Mentor Program, a volunteer program of adults with multiple chronic conditions that help RU graduate students better understand the psychosocial factors involved in health self-management. Coaching, teaching, and fostering collaborations are some of the areas of great interest to Grisel. She also loves pausing to spend quality time with her husband and their children. Grisel is former chair of the NASW-Illinois Chapter Chicago District.
