Please be on the lookout for more information to come out within the month on a CEU event that will take place in the Champaign-Urbana area.  Currently, the plan is for the event to focus on immigration law as well as ethics in technology.  We are hopeful to offer 3 ethics CEUs and 3 Cultural Competency CEUs.  Please be on the lookout for more information on this event as we continue to work to organize it.

Early Registration Open for the 2017 NASW-IL Chapter Statewide Conference

The 2017 NASW-Illinois chapter Statewide Conference: A Meeting of the Professions is now open fo rearly registration.  The conference will take place starting as early as Sunday, October 22 for a Pre-Conference CEU event through Wednesday, October 25.  This year, the conference will take place at the Westin North Shore in Wheeling, IL.  This is sure to be a great opportunity for CEUs and networking and will, like always, have a great lineup of speakers and topics to attend.  As this is a licensure renewal year, this is also a great opportunity to get those needed CEUs.  With up to 20 CEUs available, attendees can obtain their needed face-to-face CEUs along with the required cultural competency and ethics CEUs.

Early Bird Deadline: August 31, 2017

Social Workers in Action

As social workers, we carry an ethical obligation to promote social justice, equity, and inclusion.  This often means working to create structural changes in the institutions of society and dismantling systems that are oppressive.  As social workers, we are on the front lines of these efforts.  The following is a listing of social action organizations that are already very active in the East Central District and social workers' participation would be welcome:
