Hello again East Central District Members and Happy Social Work Month!
National Professional Social Work Month brings an opportunity to celebrate our profession and all that we contribute to society. There are more than 600,000 social workers in the United States making a difference in our nation! The theme for Social Work Month 2017 is, Social Workers Stand Up! How do you plan to celebrate Social Work Month?

Intermodal Expressive Arts: Using the Creative Process in Clinical Work

Also, there will be an ADDITIONAL NETWORKING EVENT after the CEU event! Come celebrate social work month with fellow social workers at a painting party to follow, pizza and soda provided! - This event is from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. ISU Social Work Month Event Announced!
The annual Illinois State University School of Social Work's event will be held on March 27th, 2017. Entitled, "Shaping the Narrative: Social Work Action for Engaged Citizenship", this event is open for registration and seats are going fast!
The conference is free to attend. Six (6) hours of Social Work Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for a fee of $50. Two (2) of the six (6) hours qualify for the Cultural Competency requirement. For more information and to REGISTER, please visit the following link:
2017 Advocacy Day:
Advocacy day will take place on Tuesday, April 4th this year at the Prairie Convention Center in Springfield. This is a great opportunity to get out and learn about lobbying in Illinois. Please visit the following link to REGISTER:
