March 2018 - Northeastern District Update

Lynn Zakeri

Hello and Happy Social Work Month! NASW has some great ways to acknowledge you and all you do all month and in our Northeastern District, we have two events this month as well.

Despite the snowstorm, we had a really insightful discussion and presentation about DBT last month, and this month we are gearing up for two really exciting events. On March 9th, we have two events. I have gotten to know Serena Wadwha over the years, and her ethics presentation is sure to be informative. Following that, we are doing something a little different: yoga for social workers. Celebrate yourself in honor of Social Work Month, and in honor of all you do, and participate in some self-care!

If you were unable to register for the March 9th events, look forward to others on the calendar: http://bit.ly/naswilcalendar

On April 6th, the Merion is celebrting us with a gourmet breakfast buffet, free valet parking, and a presentation that I am super excited to hear. Borderline personality is a topic I am always wanting more information about, and I feel like we may have struck gold with this informative speaker! Register soon!

On April 28th, we have a presentation scheduled at the Skokie Library. Our speaker has presented all over the state to NASW members, and her feedback is phenomenal. You can register for that as well now.

Have a warm spring, and more importantly, have a good spring.
